Apologizing For Jesus

New philosophical, religious, and scientific beliefs and ideas are now reshaping our multicultural and pluralistic society. And for most of us - the words above are confusing, intimidating, and overwhelming. How can we, as Christians, learn to better understand the world and the worldviews around us, with the goal of learning how to better communicate the gospel to the culture around us?

We are starting a new series in the Adult Sunday School class this fall (2011) and continuing through the spring (2012) that is intended to be highly practical, highly engaging, and highly useful. Beginning with a study of Biblical passages and principles that can guide our attempts at communication, we will then learn about and analyze the belief systems of our neighbors and friends - all with the goal of learning to build bridges and tear down walls with the gospel. Along the way, we will "put things into practice" with case-studies and real-life situations so that we can grow in confidence for understanding our world - and meeting it with the "true truth" of Jesus Christ the Savior.

Everyone is invited to be a part of this new series every Sunday morning at 9:30AM, beginning September 18, 2011!

Sunday School

New Sunday School Year Kicks Off!

Thank you to all of the teachers and subs who worked faithfully this past year to teach our covenant children the truths of the gospel during the Sunday school hour each week. Our new year begins on August 14, 2011, and we want to thank everyone who stepped up so quickly and willingly to teach and disciple our children, who are such an important calling. The following adults will be leading our children for the 2011-2012 school year:

    • Lynn E. will be teaching the Kindergarten through 2nd grade class. (Upstairs)

    • Jennifer V. & Nancy S. will continue teaching the 3rd/4th grade class. (Upstairs)

    • Rick W. will continue teaching the 5th/6th grade class. (Downstairs)

    • Pam K. will be teaching our newly added 7th/8th grade class. (Downstairs)

    • Glenn P. will continue teaching the high school class. (Downstairs)

Please pray for these teachers as well as the children of our church as they seek to grow in grace together (we also thank God for those who so faithfully taught our children in the past year! ). Watch the bulletin board in the hallway throughout the year for displays of what our students are learning!
