Women's Ministry

The purpose of the M.E.C. Women in the Church is that every woman know Christ personally and be committed to extending His kingdom in her life, home, church, community and throughout the world. The ministry will include opportunities for women to pray, study the scriptures, fellowship and serve the Lord together.

There are several opportunities to gather together with other women in our Presbytery for teaching and fellowship. These times are always a blessing as we get to know one another and share blessings and prayer requests.

We are continuing to join together on a monthly basis for a time of fellowship over a meal. These monthly gatherings are held on the last Saturday morning of each month at 10:00 AM and are usually held in a home of one of our ladies. All women are welcome along with any friends or acquaintances that would enjoy the fellowship. If you would like to open your home for a monthly Saturday morning gathering, please contact Dot S. in the church office by phone or email. We enjoy the fellowship, but would also like this to be an opportunity to build relationship between women and share the needs of our hearts.

Another opportunity to join with other women in our church to build a relational community is the Ladies' Circle, which meets at the home of Lillian M. every other Monday from 2-4 PM. The group makes various items to give as gifts to local agencies such as the Blount County boys and girls homes, Family Promise, Haven House and Refuge Ministries; the Native American ministries of Bruce and Linda Farrant; and Mission of Hope Appalachian ministry. Dates of the meetings are listed on the calendar.

If women have needs that are not being met or have ideas as to how this ministry could become a more vital part of this church, please tell the Session or someone in the Women’s Ministry. Our desire is to build community within the women of our church and our Presbytery and develop ministries of compassion which extend beyond our church walls into our community and world! Join us in praying that we would be growing daily in our understanding of who we are in Christ, as we are transformed by the Holy Spirit into Christ’s image from one degree of glory to another.
